YOUTH FAQ
What age must my child be to attend PULSE?
Pulse is for youth in secondary school. Usually this is ages 12-18.
How do I sign up and Pay?
You can sign up your child for PULSE camp at the link above, via our eventbrite page. If you are registering an entire youth group, please get in contact with us about bank transfers (to save you from eventbrite fees, etc).
Can we sign up at the door?
No. We are unable to accept payment or paperwork at the door. All youth must be registered before the camp.
Where is PULSE located?
Wilson’s Hospital School, in Westmeath.
Can I join as a leader or volunteer?
Yes! We would love for you to apply to volunteer. All volunteers must be 18+ and garda vetted.
Can I pay a deposit/ Is there a payment plan?
Individuals/ Siblings: Payments are to be paid in full via the website link. To avail of early bird please have full payment made by 14 May 2023.
Youth Groups: If you are booking your entire youth group, you can make a 50% deposit to save your space via bank transfer & make a second payment before you attend camp. Please contact Sam/ Kristina to learn more.
Does a leader need to attend with our group?
For every 8 teenagers attending, we require a leader from that church to join us on camp as a leader. A group of 24 teenagers = 3 Leaders.
How are the youth looked after and cared for at PULSE?
Each teenager is assigned to their local youth group team (from your own church). Local youth leaders oversee campers in all activities. If a camper attends individually (without a youth group) they will be assigned a Youth Group team and leader for the week.
What are the amenities (beds, toilets, showers) on site?
There are two buildings with dorm bedrooms that the youth will be separated into for sleeping. Girls in one building, boys in the other. Teens will be able to share dormitories with their youth group as space is available.
Each teen will be supplied with a mattress/ camp bed, but they must bring their own pillows and bedding (single).
Each floor of the dormitory will have toilets and showers available.
Is my teenager allowed to bring a phone/ tech device to camp?
PULSE takes no responsibility for any lost, broken or stolen property brought to camp. We ask that those attending PULSE refrain from using cell phones for child safety reasons. We will not take away any phones brought to camp.
Should my child bring extra money?
Yes, there will be a tuck shop, merch stands, and an offering taken for Compassion Ireland.
Compassion Ireland is a Christian ministry that serves children living in poverty around the world. This ministry serves these children by providing meals, access to education, healthcare and more.
